The ‘expected’ sports car of the year 2011 has shown its face at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed. We are of course talking about the Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador. The Italians are doing a worldwide tour with their brand new raging bull and Goodwood is the latest stop. Parked at the Supercar Paddock the Aventador is accompanied by another Lamborghini, a Gallardo LP570-4 Performante, and numerous other supercars.
As with all Lamborghini’s this car is named after a bull. Aventador was the name of a bull that entered into battle in October 1993 at the Saragossa Arena, earning the “Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera” for its outstanding courage.
Just a small recap. The Aventador Lamborghini LP700-4 measures 4.78 meters long, 2.26 wide (including mirrors) and stands 1.14 meters tall. The engine of the Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador, which was released early on is a new 6.5 liter V12, which weighs 235kg and delivers 700hp at 8,250rpm and 690Nm at 5,500rpm. The LP700-4 weighs just 1,575 kilograms (3,472lb) which means that the Aventador has a power to weight ratio of 2.25kg/hp or 4.96lb/hp.
A choice of two-tone interiors is on offer with the “Sportivo” and “Elegante” versions, while a premium audio system and reversing camera are among the many technology options. Of course, the “Ad Personam” individualization program knows no limits when it comes to colors and materials. On the exterior, 13 production paint colours are available to choose from, three are highly sophisticated matt tones.

Italian driver duo of Fabio Babini and Matteo Zucchi claimed two wins at the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo at Silverstone, UK, on 5 June 2011.
DMC launched two GT3 Body Kits, for the current Gallardo LP560 and it’s predecessor the LP540 to commemorate this twin victory.
Engine tuning involves a bump in output up to 580 PS (427 kW / 572 bhp) and 575 Nm (424 lb-ft) of torque for the LP560, while the LP540 gets 566 PS (416 kW / 558 bhp).

If your Lamborghini Gallardo is starting to look a little dated, you might want to give Prior Design a call because the company has introduced an aggressive styling package for the Italian exotic.
Drawing inspiration from the Reventon and Aventador, the body kit has new fascias, aerodynamic side skirts and a prominent rear diffuser.No word on pricing, but all the components are made from high quality materials and are TÜV certified.

Lamborghini Marsal, commonly known as “the wonder car that was never to be,” was sold at the Villa d’Este auction for $2.1 million. Made in the year 1966, this car was a one-off concept version that never went into production because of the abstract design, but has been on the wish list of many collectors due to its stand-out shape. Marcello Gandhini, who was behind many iconic models such as the Miura and Countach, had originally created the concept car from 50 square feet of glass, making it look more like an X-ray in motion than a vehicle itself.
Highly aerodynamic in shape, this car had the looks for the future, but strangely an engine with half the power of the Miura. Nevertheless, the 2.0 liter engine had enough in itself to generate a total of 175 HP, and set this wonder car zooming on the road. As for the interiors, it carried the similar flavors of a futuristic vehicle with its honeycomb shaped central console, and this silvered colored seat covers. Since a majority of the body was made of glass, it provided an open view of what was outside the vehicle, which was earlier never thought of automobiles back then.
The history of Lamborghini began when its founding owner, Ferruccio Lamborghini, wanted to be the “anti-Ferrari” in the car-making industry, by making super-fast vehicles but very comfortable ones at that. Ferraris of that time were known to be more of “racing cars with headlights” than anything else, and Lamborghini had to differentiate itself in that regard. That’s when the desire to make cars with distinct and almost outrageous designs, but with a large degree of craftsmanship, came to Ferruccio Lamborghini, and that was first manifested in the form of the Miura. A long list of such iconic models came to the market, but what stood out from the rest was this Marsal, which was incidentally the only one to be made.
Some more iconic versions of the car can be seen in our coverage of Limited Edition LP710, which was incidentally the fastest-moving Lamborghini at one time. Following the trend was the Carbon-fibre Murcielago version that costed its buyer well above $ 1 million for the exclusivity of design and production numbers. As someone who loves these fast things on wheels, it sure is a treat to be enjoyed on the fast lane!

It’s not too hard to imagine the rumored Lamborghini Reventon roadster, just chop the little roof section and voilà la. But if the people at Global Motors are going to take the time to make a rendering, then we’re happy to revisit the idea of a 670 hp, €1,200,000 (about $1.6 million) roadster.

Fact 1:Lamborghini is named after the founder of the company Ferruccio Lamborghini (1916-1993). Ferruccio Lamborghini founded the company in 1963 when he was 47 years old. The factory is located in a small Italian village called Sant'Agata Bolognese near Bologna.
Fact 2:Ferruccio Lamborghini was a successful tractor manufacturer before he got interested in sports cars. His interest in sports cars made him buy many different high-performance cars including both Maseratis and Ferraris, but he was never really happy with any of them and therefore decided to built his own, perfect sports car,
Fact 3:Lamborghini used to be an independent company, but today it is a subsidiary of the German company Audi AG. Audi AG became the owner of Lamborghini in 1998. Lamborghini went bankrupt in 1978 and was sold to Chrysler a long time before Audi AG became the sole owner of the company.
Fact 4:The fastest Lamborghini is the Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT model. It has been reported to have a top speed of 370 km/h. The fastest street model from Lamborghini is the Murcielago LP640 with an estimated top speed of 340 km/h. Both of the models have a V12 engine with more than 6000 cc.
Fact 5:Several of the newer Lamborghini models feature the familiar Lamborghini scissor doors that rotate up and forward on a hinge near the front of the door. The Countach, the Diablo and the Murcielago all have scissor doors, but the Gallardo does not. Both the Countach and the Diablo are no longer being produced, so the Murcielago is the only current model with scissor doors.
Fact 6:No Lamborghini have ever been produced with less than a V8 engine. Most of the Lamborghini models throughout the history of the company have come with the legendary Lamborghini V12 engine, but the newest model, Gallardo, only have a V10 engine. No Lamborghini models with a V8 engine have been since production of the Silhouette stopped in 1989.
Fact 7:The first Lamborghini was the 350GTV from 1963. It was extremely fast for its time with a top speed of 280 km/h. In 1964 a smaller version of the 350GTV appeared. The smaller version was called 350GT and had a top speed of 240 km/h. The Countach from 1974 was the first Lamborghini to go faster than 300 km/h.
Fact 8:In 1975 did Walter Wolf, a rich Canadian businessman and F1 racing team owner, persuade Lamborghini to produce three super powered Countach models. The Wolf Countach had the same engine as the orginal Countach prototype and were able to reach a top speed of 315 km/h.

My personal liking for Lamborghini attracted me to check out this theme; only to be thwarted of all my expectations. I must confess it to be a total disappointment. Being an enthusiast for high end cars, just naturally makes me check them out. To be honest, it comes in the same category as the the Ferrari Enzo theme.
It consisted of just an image of yellow coloured Lamborghini Gallardo wallpaper on the lock-screen and a cliff in the wallpaper in the menu. No change in the icons or any attractive Gallardo’s shown. There isn’t any change in the sound effects or message font. However, there is a teeny-tiny change in the icon labels with the font getting smaller.

Gallardo Superleggera despite the uncanny similarities between the two, the design of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is a testament to Lamborghini’s dedication of building supercars that stand out from its peers. The Gallardo’s well known dynamic wedge shape is accentuated by sleek contours that make the car look stunning from every imaginable angle.
The Gallardo Spyder Perforante’s power comes from a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 570 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 398.3 lb/ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. The V10 engine also has a displacement of 5,204 cm with a specific output of 109.6 horsepower per liter.
As with any Lamborghini Gallardo model, the long-stroke engine comes with dry sump lubrication and a cylinder angle of 90 degrees, a critical element that lowers the car’s center of gravity, thereby improving on its handling dynamics.The Gallardo Spyder Perforante also has a dual-plane crankshaft with the connecting rods of the opposing pistons sharing only one bearing, allowing the car to alternate ignition intervals of 54 and 90 degrees and producing that unmistakable roar of a V10 engine.
Lamborghini opted to use aluminum and, with the help of cast node elements and extruded profile, made a stiff spaceframe structure where the other aluminum panels can be integrated without any problems. This allows for a body shell that’s both impact resistant and handling precise.Then there’s the matter of carbon fiber, which is crucial in reducing the car’s overall weight – the Spyder Peformante is 143 lbs lighter than the Gallardo Spyder. Lamborghini engineers made use of carbon fiber, using it on a number of body parts, including the rear spoiler, side sills, diffuser, exterior mirror casings, and some parts of the supercar’s underbody paneling.

Lamborghini has already confirmed that the Sesto Elemento will indeed be headed to the production line, albeit in a very limited run. With such a minute number being produced, anyone would be hard-pressed to get know when Lamborghini is even actively selling it, let alone be able to grab hold of one of those units.
With the Elemento having an overall curb weight of just 2,202 lbs and a massive V10 power unit feeding a permanent all-wheel drive system, this car is sure to impress on the track. Output is 570hp giving the lightweight bull a power to weight ratio of 1.75 kilograms per horsepower. What that statistic really comes down to is the car being able to accelerate from a standstill through 60mph in 2.5 seconds.
The V10 offers 5,204 cm3 of displacement, delivering a specific output of 80.5 kW (109.6 hp) per liter of displacement. The engine utilizes an aluminum crankcase including dry sump lubrication and a cylinder angle of 90 degrees. Both solutions are an integral part of the lightweight engineering approach, as well as serving to lower the center of gravity and thus tighten the handling characteristics. Ideal combustion chamber fill comes courtesy of a switch-over induction system and continually variable, chain-driven camshafts.
The main component of the new Sesto Elemento is carbon fiber and more specifically carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP). Lamborghini has been able to successfully develop a process that takes the material from 3D design through simulation, validation, testing, and finally into production. Its collaboration with the Boeing company is perhaps one of the most important to the development of this vehicle. The two companies have been able to develop the CFRP design much further than ever before thanks to their ACRC (Advanced Composite Research Center). Two of the most unique parts designed for the exterior are the wheels made entirely out of carbon fiber and the exhaust system which is made out of a material called Pyrosic. This is a glass ceramic composite that can withstand high heat.

A Lamborghini sedan based on the upcoming Audi A8; engineered by Audi and likely to be built in Germany. It’s pronounced es-STO-kay.
The ambitious Italians want to sell 1500 to 2000 Estoques, which would nearly double Lamborghini’s worldwide sales.Audi A7/S7, BMW 5-series Gran Turismo, Aston Martin Rapide, Rolls-Royce Ghost, Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS550/CLS63 AMG.
If it comes to fruition, the $180,000 sedan will arrive in 2012.
